you can tell that from the judges behavouir towards young peekay that he isnt a very nice person and doesnt treat people well.
he might only be acting like this towards others because he is raised like this and gets it off his parents.
the judge is only 12 but peekay is younger so it is easier to pick on the 5 year old peekay.
the judge isn’t the smartest 12 year old if a 5 year old does his work.

guided peekay to see things that are negative turn into something positive with the symbol of water,(seeing things from a different perspective)because peekay is only young and he hasn’t really had many things that are positive in his life as a child so far.
peekays mother,
peekays mother hasnt really been there in peekays life because she had a nervous breakdown and now suffers with depression, so peekay hasnt really had his mother there for him.
granpa chook,
granpa chook is a gift from inkosi inkosikazi from him to peekay. he is a chicken given to peekay. the judge always treated peekay badly and the one thing the judge did was kill granpa chook.
chapter 8 introduction to Hoppie,
Hoppies style is more casual than what it should be.

In control of the train- so he is changing time in peekay’s life.

chapter 9 introduction to Doc,
the start of this chapter shows that Doc is very intelligent- the fact he knew all about the cactuses, and he has a professor at the front of his name.
Doc is a professer in music
Doc has a kind behaviour towards peekay and that means a lot to peekay considering almost his whole life he’s been treated badly.
Doc has issues with alcohol and drinks whiskey every night, but yet he still has a clear mind and is very focused, that what makes him intelligent, because you can see the sadness in him and with his drinking problem.
Doc used to play in significant countries around the world as a pianist, but he has weight on his shoulder such as losing his gift of music. has wolves in his head, has an alcoholic problem. doc gets taken away to prison because he was a german. peekay sees doc a lot in prison.
luteinit smit,
he trains boxers or wannabe boxers, he is the lieutenant in the prison Doc is in with peekay. lieutenant smit doesn’t really show kindness to the kaffas (black men in the prison), but geil peit- one of a kaffia, he is teaching peekay how to box and peekay one of his matches because of him, and lieutenant showed a good side of him by saying to geil peit – ‘good coach’ he said that to one of the prisoners and that shows that he can ignollege him and be grateful for him training peekay. lieutenant smit is now caption smit he got promoted.

chapter 14,
peekay is starting to question religion ‘if nobody is dirty and nobody works in hevan and black and white people are equal, why cant we all live in the same place?’
peekays mother is a cristian so religon is important to her.
peekays mum doesn’t have a lot of logic and that prevents her to having a relashonship with peekay because he has logic and hes only young.

doc wants to give a concert to the prisoners- that shows his kindness to them

geil peit dies, the komandant said that ‘geil peit was simply another kaffia’
